By the way, the last code posted by the OP needs only 4 images (diary.png and page.png of 350x350 px, lbutton.png and rbutton.png of 30x30 px) and some .txt files for testing. I personally use the icons from my skin suite for testing, since the image meters have their W and H set anyway, so it doesn't really matter what one has there. Obviously it would have been nice to have the ones used by the OP, but well, for testing purposes, anything works.
